cauteleiro, a varina,
Leiteira,
padeiro à porta,

vendedeira dos figos,

“rica amora da horta”,
A
mulher da fava-rica,
O
“petrolino” cantor
E
o toque do amolador.
No
beco, na rua ou na praça
Iam
deixando os seus cantos
De
Alfama até à Graça.
Era
o homem das castanhas
Que
perfumava a cidade
No
Outono, ao fim da tarde.
E
um POVO que sonhava
Apregoar
LIBERDADE.

LIBERDADE que um dia

mês de Abril viu chegar
Aquela
que o POVO queria

que tanto o fez sonhar
